Marcos Garza graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human & Organizational Development. He received a Master of Science in Social Work from the Nashville campus of the University of Tennessee, and in 2001 his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law. In 1999, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Areas of his military experience include Criminal, Operational Law, Legal Assistance, Ethics, Income Taxation and Administrative Law. During his Active Duty tour he was a Judge Advocate, finishing with the rank of Captain. He works in locations throughout East Tennessee, and has worked in personal injury, family law and general civil litigation areas. He began his own practice, The Garza Law Firm, PLLC, in 2007, and specializes in DUI defense, personal injury and criminal defense law. He is one of the few attorneys across the country that is certified to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He is licensed to practice in both Tennessee State Courts, Federal Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
